What we collect and why
When you contact us
If you use the Ask a question form, we receive your name, email address, phone number (if you give it) and your message. We use these only to reply to you and deal with your enquiry. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us.
When you become a Friend of The Boot
If you sign up as a Friend of The Boot, we receive your name, email address and any message you add. We use them to send you our news, events, promotions and offers. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by replying to any of our emails or by emailing us, and we’ll stop straight away.
When you book a table
Table bookings are made through our booking provider, resOS, on their own website. They handle your booking details under their own privacy policy, and share them with us so we can look after your booking.
When you browse our website
If you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages are viewed most, so we can improve it. It collects information about your device and visit, not your name or contact details. Our lawful basis is your consent, given through the cookie banner, which you can change at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Like all websites, the companies that host and deliver our website receive basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, so that pages can be sent to your device.

We may also share information if the law requires us to.
